So this Sunday past Smekk, Mish, and I went to Wilsons Promontory National Park for a photoshoot for my upcoming series. I was so in awe with this place. All three of us took a little hike from the park entrance up to these bushes that take us to these big rolling dunes. We encountered some red bellied black snakes on the way too (which scared the hell out of the three of us). We then took a short cut up the dunes, that was more of a climb than a hike, I think the three of us just kind of died and came back alive when we got to the top. We saw everything, we were on top of the world!
We camped our stuff on a massive slab of rock (which crumbles into dust if you snap the corners off) near a lovely lake/pond at the bottom of all the sand dunes. Completely surrounded. The silence was beautiful, the view was stunning. I really don’t know how I can describe the feeling. It was literally a different world. The sky was clear blue with a few feathery clouds the sand was bright and changed colour when clouds shadowed the sun as they went by. The place was just so quiet that it was the first time in my life I actually heard the wings of about a dozen of cockatoos fly by flapping. It sounded like a glider. It was beautiful. There were emu tracks across the sand. It just seemed like an never ending land. Presuming that there were many shells scattered across the drifts it is possible that it use to be part of the beaches but dried up and ending up with little ponds and lakes scattered across the dunes.
After this trip I felt so alive, I felt so small. Even though I was surrounded by sand and more sand and being below the dunes I felt safe and free. That when I got back to work the next day everything just didn’t seem to matter, everything going on around me yesterday and today was so insignificant.
I’ll never forget this place, I’ll probably go again. Not too keen about the snakes (just need to read up on being snake smart), but would love to camp out there over night, Arabian nights style.
Thank you Smekk for taking me (even though you became so nervous about the snakes) and thank you Mish for being Elisa Thornberry and protecting the both of us <3 So much love for these two.

A very enlightening video. I learnt and thought about so much in this video compared to a term of philosophy back in Uni.
